About Hobbs MarketingHOBBS MARKETING began as Thomas and Hobbs in January 1989, changing to HOBBS MARKETING in 1991, when Chris Hobbs bought out the Thomas portion of the company. In today’s market, successful representative firms must go beyond simply “asking for the order.” Because HOBBS MARKETING seeks only to represent vendors we believe have superior products, we must bring to the table abilities that are equally superior to the competition. • SALES /PRODUCT TRAINING: We take great pride in our capabilities in both the technical and practical sales training. We have a unique ability to convey highly technical information to non-technical salespeople. This is critical for both short and long term success. • SUPPLEMENTARY MATERIALS: We have the expertise required to produce high-quality training materials. • WE ARE YOUR REPRESENTATIVES: We are manufacturers' representatives, not dealer representatives. Your policies and programs will be presented and carried out in the same manner as if you had a direct sales force. • KNOWLEDGE OF THE MARKET: Our forecasts are not simply uneducated guesses, but are based upon historical models. We know there are a declining number of AV specialists to do business with. With this changing landscape, the AV specialist has embraced the residential custom installation market. We deal with almost all the mature AV specialists and most of the custom installation firms. We are not trying to be all things to everyone, but a manufacturers’ representative that realizes to be successful, you must have relationships with the key people in the market. The way to maintain these relationships is to represent quality products from companies that are interested in long-term growth, while serving these accounts professionally and regularly. We currently represent: Denon, Esoteric, Genelec, Knoll Systems, Krell, Morel, Raxxess, Russound, Screen Innovations, Sim2, Teac and Triad. • KNOWLEDGEABLE SALES STAFF: Our salespeople will know your products, not just your programs. We understand your business, your needs and your concerns. We treat all our customers with the highest levels of integrity and provide you with sales education, product presentation techniques and vendor sponsored technical training seminars.
